Torbay Juniors Champion The Environment!

Right here in Torbay, there's a force of nature making waves for the environment – the Play Torbay Juniors! These young minds are bursting with passion and taking action to protect our planet, reminding us that every voice counts, regardless of age or ability.

At the December's Torbay Climate Partnership Meeting at Paignton Zoo, not content with simply attending, the Juniors actively participated, leaving everyone impressed with their knowledge and commitment. They presented their well-researched ideas and the paragraph below is what was recorded in the minutes.

‘Agata and Ivy then presented on the environmentally friendly Play Packs that were given out, including the ‘How to be an Eco Champion’ pack and how to make bunnies and eco salt dough decorations. They also shared personal stories about how they first got involved with Play Torbay and how it is a safe, inclusive and calm environment. All the children they see over Christmas will get a play pack and a food pack. Children are also given things to do at home and encouraged to play outside. The Partnership congratulated them on their incredible work’.

And who could forget the adorable eco-friendly bunny that melted hearts and spread awareness? Yep, that was their brilliant contribution!

And the Paignton library hasn't been the same since the Juniors descended upon them for the Tonic Creatives Climate consultation event! They unleashed their creativity, weaving environmental messages into engaging activities and artwork; they learned creative things you can do with potatoes and wove willow into beautiful  bird feeders. Future-proofing Our World: and the story doesn't end there! This past Saturday, the Juniors were at the Library again, participating in the ‘Future-Proof’ event, inspiring others to join the fight for a sustainable future. The eco-friendly bunnies were an even bigger hit, along with friendship bracelets and eco-champion activity books. It was an amazing time!
