What’s been happening at Play Torbay
What an exciting week October half term was! We were lucky enough to have a group of drama students from Gloucester University come to Indigos to work on a week long project with local children at Indigos. It was an environmental quest put on in conjunction with Life on the Edge.
There’s been a lot going on at Play Torbay since September! Despite a few setbacks, we’ve had some amazing achievements and wonderful community moments that we’re excited to share with you.
After an incredible 25 years of dedication, Director Tanny Stobart is leaving Play Torbay as of 31st December 2025.
The Green Marketplace event was designed to bring together families in an informal and playful setting to allow children to find about ecology and how to protect the environment.
We were delighted to invite specialist playworker playground designer Simon Bazley, all the way from North Wales was delighted with the results of the Toolcraft course at the Wild Fox playground this March.
We were awarded a grant from the Torbay Local Heritage Fund to involve children and families in the local heritage of Torbay focussed around the Geopark and its significance. This was mainly done through playful activities at the Indigos Play & Ecology Centre in Brixham.
Spring has officially sprung, and what better way to celebrate than with an egg-citing Easter Extravaganza at Indigos Play and Ecology Centre! On the 29th of March, young adventurers from across the area flocked to join in the fun, turning the day into an unforgettable experience for all.
