Play Torbay on TV!!! Feel Good Health & Well Being Event
On Wednesday 24th February Play Torbay supported and took part in ‘Feel Good’ a health and wellbeing virtual event hosted by Seetec Pluss in partnership with Great Western Railway. The event was live on Chaos TV as well as Seetec’s Facebook page.
At Play Torbay we were asked if we could support the event on the day by doing a short session on making Eco Bricks which are one of the fantastic Eco Pack activities that are helping to support children during lockdown.
The Torbay ‘Feel Good ‘event was one of a series pioneered to champion ways to feel good and support people to stay healthy and well, whilst recognising that times are tough right now. It was created to let people know that they are not alone, and that help can come from many different sources. Some of the other sessions included:
· Learning about local community support with Torbay Help Hub
· Hearing real life stories of finding work during Covid-19
· Watch ‘Wednesday Kitchen’ with celebrity South West chef – Peter Gorton
We were really lucky to get Holly, Lucy and Tjay who regularly join us to run our Facebook Live sessions to come along and run this session themselves; they designed and announced a competition and demonstrated how to make an Eco Brick; an ingenious way of reusing single plastic to make bricks which can be used again and again to build with.
The kids were amazing in delivering the session and totally owned it as well as managing to get across the vitally important message about why it’s really important to reduce the amount of single use plastic we use on an every-day basis. So in summary Play Torbay would like to say a Massive thank you to Holly Tjay and Lucy for their time and energy to make this brilliant. Awesome Job.
